Vol. 209 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rush (Dublin) Estate

57.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission propose to acquire Kenure estate, Rush, County Dublin; and if this estate will be divided amongst local landless men, smallholders and employees of the estate.

There are no proceedings for acquisition of this property. Certain inquiries are being made in the matter, however, but until they are completed, it is not possible to forecast the outcome.

I should add that an area of 208 acres on this estate was purchased and allotted by the Land Commission some years ago.

If the Land Commission decided to acquire this estate will the employees thereof be given due consideration in the matter of division?

That will be a matter for the Land Commission but I have no doubt that everybody will get due consideration.
