Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Postmen.

63.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of (a) permanent and (b) auxiliary postmen in the city of Dublin at the most recent convenient date; whether it is proposed to augment these grades during the coming year; and, if so, by how many.

There are no auxiliary postmen employed in the Dublin city area. The number of permanent postmen employed in the city area is 875 which will be increased to 896 when vacancies on the grade are filled. It is not possible to say at this stage whether it will be necessary to increase this number during 1965.
