Vol. 209 No. 10

Written Answers. - Rates Payments.

25.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give particulars, or estimated particulars, of the rates payable on a holding having land valuation of (a) £20 and (b) £40, in 1963-64 and in 1964-65, having regard to the local rate in the pound in each year and the proposed rates relief for 1964-65 recently communicated to rating authorities.

On the basis of an average county rate of 46/- for 1963/64 and 51/- for 1964/65, the net rates payable in 1963/64 on a holding of £20 land valuation were £13 16s. and on a holding of £40 land valuation, £48 6s. The corresponding figures for 1964/65, taking into account the increased allowances provided by the agricultural grant, are £10 4s. and £45 18s.

These figures do not take account of the payment of any employment allowances.
