Vol. 209 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Partition Issue.

6.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if, having regard to this country's contribution to world peace, the Partition of Ireland can be raised as a separate issue at the United Nations; and, if not, if he will give a detailed explanation to the House, embodying the principles of international law as they apply in this matter.

There is no legal obstacle to tabling a motion that the question of the Partition of Ireland be inscribed on the Agenda for discussion and that the matter should be debated as a separate issue.

May I ask the Minister would he bring the matter to the United Nations?

I have dealt with this question very often here in the Estimates debates.

Not to my knowledge.

It is there for the Deputy to read.
