Vol. 209 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Sewerage Scheme.

55.

asked the Minister for Local Government to what extent his Department are prepared to pay in respect of the sewerage extension now proposed by Letterkenny Urban District Council to serve the home of a person (name supplied); and if he will guarantee that this man will not have to pay any more than his neighbours in view of the particular circumstances relative to the case.

It is standard practice in such cases for the sanitary authority to bring the sewer to the boundary of the premises. On this basis the normal rate of 60 per cent subsidy will be payable towards loan charges arising from approved expenditure on the extension. The person concerned will be responsible for making the connection to the sewer and it will be open to him to apply for the appropriate grants.
