NOTE: It is not possible at present to indicate when these estates will be allotted but every effort will be made to dispose of as many of them as possible by next Spring.

63.

asked the Minister for Lands why a person (name supplied) was passed over when the division of the Walsh Estate at Vicarstown, Cappagh, County Waterford took place.

Under section 12, Land Act, 1950, the selection of allottees of land is an excepted matter reserved to the Land Commissioners. I have ascertained from the Land Commission that an application by the person mentioned was fully considered in competition, with other applications received by them but that, having regard to the acreage available for disposal and other considerations, it was not possible to provide him with an allotment on this particular estate.

64.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is hoped to have the Flavin Estate, Ardmore, County Waterford, divided amongst the deserving applicants in the area.

Arrangements for allocation on this 64-acre estate have not yet been completed but it is hoped that allotment will be feasible next spring.
