Vol. 209 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Night Dispensaries.

3.

asked the Minister for Health what progress has been made since previous replies on the subject towards the provision of night dispensaries in Finglas and Cabra; and whether he will take immediate steps to expedite their provision.

I indicated in reply to a previous question by the Deputy that I had received no proposal from the health authority for the holding of night dispensaries in either of the two areas mentioned in the question. That is still the position.

I have conveyed to the health authority my approval of a proposal submitted by them to hold night dispensaries in Ballyfermot dispensary district, subject to certain modifications. In the letter of approval I have referred to a resolution passed by the health authority suggesting that there should be night dispensaries at Summerhill and Finglas as well as Ballyfermot and have indicated that I am awaiting proposals in relation to these two areas.
