Vol. 210 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - National Gallery Director.

36.

asked the Minister for Education the name of the person appointed Director of the National Gallery, and the number of persons whose names were considered for this appointment.

In relation to the first part of the question I would refer the Deputy to the announcement in the public press of 18th April, 1964.

As regards the second part my information is that there were 18 applicants for the post. Following preliminary consideration of all the applications five of the applicants were called for interview.
