Vol. 210 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda Síochána Band.

24.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice how many members of the Garda Síochána Band were members of an Army band; whether any moneys were paid to the Army to secure their release therefrom; and, if so, how much, by whom, and why.

24 members of the Garda Band were members of an Army Band. The question of release from the Army is a matter between the individuals concerned and the Department of Defence and I have no information thereon. No moneys were paid out of any of the Votes for which I am responsible.
