Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state in respect of the latest convenient date the number of men in the regular Army; and the number of civilians in his Department or employed by the Army.

The information required by the Deputy is as follows:—

(a) strength of na Buan-Óglaigh (including An tSeirbhís Chabhlaigh) on 31 Bealtaine, 1964

(b) number of civil servants in my Department on 31 Bealtaine, 1964

(c) number of civilians (tradesmen, labourers, etc.) employed with na Buan-óglaigh on 26 Bealtaine, 1964
