Vol. 211 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Motor Insurance Agreement.

60.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is proposed to extend the Motor Insurance Bureau Agreement to cover cases where passengers are injured.

Discussions are taking place between my Department and the Bureau on the matter but I am not yet in a position to say what the outcome will be.

Mr. Ryan

Is the Minister in a position to tell the House when the discussions began and whether he anticipates they will conclude in the near future?

The actual discussions began only in January of this year, after some correspondence last year.
