Vol. 211 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Heifer Grant Scheme.

13.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason why an applicant (particulars supplied) has been informed that he will receive a bounty of £40 in respect of three calves under the heifer scheme, instead of the £15 per head as promised by his Department.

The total amount due to the applicant in question was, of course, £45, and this amount has now been paid to him. Through a clerical error, the amount due was shown on the official notification to the applicant as £40 instead of £45.

14.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the number of grants paid so far in North Tipperary under the scheme of grants for calved heifers.

The actual number for North Tipperary is not readily available but the number for the whole County Tipperary is 490. It is estimated that approximately one half of these related to North Tipperary.
