Vol. 211 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Killorglin (Kerry) Housing Needs.

34.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will arrange with the Kerry County Council to have a survey of the housing needs of Killorglin carried out and to have a scheme formulated without delay.

It should not be necessary for me to make such an arrangement. The Kerry County Council already have at their disposal the results of the survey of unfit housing carried out at my request. With this and other local information at their disposal they should be in a position to assess need and formulate appropriate housing proposals for the Killorgin area.

35.

asked the Minister for Local Government the causes of the delay in commencing the Stealroe housing scheme, Killorglin, County Kerry; and if he will take all possible steps to have the scheme commenced at once.

There has been no delay in my Department in dealing with this scheme. The draft contract documents submitted for approval on 1st May included a drainage design which, I was advised, required revision. This was discussed with the housing authority's technical officers and revised drainage documents are awaited.
