Vol. 211 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ground Rents.

51.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that some landlords have tried to change the term ground rent to house rent since the commission was set up to investigate the possibility of the abolition of ground rents; and when he proposes to inform the Dáil of the findings of the commission.

I am not so aware, but, in any event, changing the description of a rent reserved by a lease cannot alter its character.

The report of the Ground Rents Commission will be published very shortly.
