With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 41 and 42 together.

It will be seen from the accounts of Shipping Finance Corporation which were presented to the Dáil in January, 1964, as part of the accounts of the Industrial Credit Company, that the amount of loans advanced by the Corporation as at 31st October, 1963, was £2,304,450 and the mortgage debenture loan advanced to the Corporation by the Industrial Credit Company at the same date amounted to £2,357,800. I understand that the corresponding figures for 31st October, 1964, are not yet available.

It is not the practice to disclose the further information sought by the Deputy. This information relates to individual transactions between the Corporation and its clients and I do not consider that the disclosure by me of such information would be in the public interest or that of the Corporation and its clients.
