asked the Minister for Finance if he has completed his review of certain claims by former members of the RIC; and if he will now indicate whether he will grant them satisfaction.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - RIC Pensioners.
48.
The answer to the first part of the question is that no claims on behalf of former members of the RIC are at present before my Department. The second part of the question does not, therefore, arise.
I might add that claims on behalf of RIC pensioners were dealt with at length in a motion taken in the Dáil on 11 December, 1963, and 29 January, 1964, and I indicated then that no special action on behalf of these pensioners was warranted. Over the years their pensions have been substantially increased and a further five per cent increase was granted as from 1 October, 1964.
