187.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of appeals on hands from tenants of labourers' cottages in the Meath and Westmeath sections of the Kildare constituency in respect of repairs to cottages which have been vested, or, if this information is not readily available, in the whole of counties Meath and Westmeath; and when it is hoped to have these cottages inspected with a view to determining what repairs are necessary.

The information sought is not available in respect of constituency areas.

The number of appeals on hands from tenant purchasers of labourers' cottages in the administrative counties of Kildare, Meath and Westmeath are 35, 19 and 11, respectively, of which 15, 5 and 3 respectively, are in the final stages and will be determined shortly. The remaining cases are at various stages of consideration prior to inspection and while I cannot say precisely when they will be determined, every effort will be made to have this done as early as possible.
