Vol. 212 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick School of Commerce.

48.

asked the Minister for Education the original estimated cost of the School of Commerce, Mulgrave Street, Limerick; and the amount spent to date on this project.

The provision of a School of Commerce by the City of Limerick Vocational Education Committee at Mulgrave Street, Limerick, is part of a project for the conversion and extension of existing premises into schools of commerce, art and music which project was the subject of a single building tender.

I am unable, therefore, to furnish separate details relating to the School of Commerce.

49.

asked the Minister for Education the amount spent on furnishings and floor coverings for the School of Commerce, Mulgrave Street, Limerick; whether a contract for the supply of these items was put out to public tender; and if not, why.

For the reasons which I have just stated in replying to the first of the two questions from the Deputy I am unable to give separate details concerning the School of Commerce at Mulgrave Street, Limerick. I can say, however, that some floor coverings for the building formed part of the building contract. The supply of furnishings is governed by the Vocational Education (Contracts) (Amendment) Regulations, 1964.
