Vol. 212 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Retired Civil Servants Employed by Local Authorities.

3.

asked the Minister for Finance when he intends to take steps to amend legislation in respect of persons retired from Government Departments who are now employed by local authorities and who are deprived of benefits from the twelve per cent wage increase by virtue of the fact that their salary plus the twelve per cent wage increase would exceed their salary prior to their retirement.

Legislation is in course of preparation to amend the law governing the abatement of pension on re-employment and it will deal with the type of case mentioned by the Deputy.
