asked the Minister for Education the number of candidates who sat for the recent (a) leaving certificate and (b) intermediate certificate examination; the number who obtained (1) honours and (2) pass and the number of failures; and how these figures compare on the percentage basis with the figures for corresponding examinations in each of the past three years.

The information sought by the Deputy is being furnished in a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to have circulated with the Official Report.
