Written Answers. - Tubercular Meningitis.

70.

asked the Minister for Health the total number of children in each of the age groups (a) up to five years, (b) five to ten years and (c) ten to fifteen years who (1) became ill of tubercular meningitis and (2) died of tubercular meningitis in the city of Dublin in each of the years 1926, 1936, 1946, 1954 and 1964.

I understand from inquiries made from the Dublin Health Authority that statistics of incidence of tuberculosis meningitis for Dublin City are not available for the years prior to 1955. Information supplied by the Dublin Health Authority in respect of the years 1955 and 1963 is as follows:—

Age Group 0-4

Age Group 5-9
