asked the Minister for Health the number of children vaccinated by BCG in the years 1936, 1946, 1956 and 1964.

The information requested by the Deputy, in so far as it is available, is as follows :—

asked the Minister for Health whether any children known to have been vaccinated by BCG subsequently (1) contracted any form of tuberculosis and (2) died from tuberculosis in any form.

Statistics are not available of the BCG vaccination status of persons who die from tuberculosis.

Information as regards children vaccinated with BCG who subsequently contracted tuberculosis is available only in respect of the years 1959 onwards. This information is given in a table which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.
