asked the Minister for Health if he will state (a) the number of medical cards at present issued and (b) the number of persons covered by these medical cards in (i) County Waterford, (ii) South Tipperary and (iii) North Tipperary.

On 31st December, 1964, the latest date for which the information is available, the numbers of general medical services cards current in County Tipperary (North Riding). County Tipperary (South Riding) and in the Waterford Health Authority area were 5,232; 8,116 and 9,078 respectively. The numbers of persons covered by these cards, that is, holders and dependants, were 14,779; 21,918 and 26,587 respectively.
