Vol. 214 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - East Galway Fishing Rights.

100.

Mr. Donnellan

asked the Minister for Lands if he will take steps to restore to East Galway farmers fishing rights which are now held by his Department, in view of the fact that the Department are at present giving these rights to fishery boards.

All fishing rights in the hands of the Land Commission in East Galway which have been let for a term, including the present year, have been let on the basis of competitive tenders following advertisement. There is no question of changing the policy in regard to the making of such lettings and none of the fishing rights in question have been handed over to fishery boards as stated in the question.
