Vol. 214 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repairs to Donegal Schools.

49.

asked the Minister for Education the cause of the delay in having repairs carried out to Meevagh and Derryhassen national schools, County Donegal, in view of the fact that reconstruction plans have been submitted to the Office of Public Works since April 1964; and if he will make a statement on the matter in view of the general concern in the parish.

The position in relation to these schools is not as stated in the Deputy's question. The facts are that it is proposed to provide water-flushed sanitation at the schools. The Commissioners of Public Works have agreed to allow the works to be carried out locally on condition that details of the scheme are submitted for their prior approval. It is understood from the Commissioners that the necessary proposals have not yet been submitted to them.
