asked the Minister for Lands what areas of land have been acquired for forestry purposes by his Department in Mid-Cork; and, in each case, what is the position regarding forestry planting in the area concerned.

Statistics are not kept on a constituency basis and the information required cannot be conveniently compiled.

In regard to County Cork, the total area acquired for forestry purposes up to the end of March, 1965, is approximately 75,846 acres of which 71,494 acres is productive forest land. A total of approximately 61,378 acres had been planted in the county up to the end of March, 1965.
