Vol. 215 No. 5

Written Answers. - Board of Works Employees

50.

asked the Minister for Finance the number of (a) labourers, (b) drivers and (c) supervisory workers employed under the Office of Public Works in each county, together with rates of wages and hours of work in the form of a reply of 14th April 1964, indicating also the drainage schemes to which an incentive bonus applies.

The question has been taken as relating to workers on drainage schemes. Particulars of numbers employed are not available county by county and are given on a scheme basis in respect of a recent week. The normal working week is 45 hours: February to October —8 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Monday to Friday; November to January—8.15 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 8.15 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday. Regular overtime, five hours a week, is worked in the summer period.
