Vol. 215 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Heating of Ballymun Houses.

17.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether any investigation has been made or initiated by his Department into the feasibility of the fuel supplies for the central heating of projects such as the Ballymun housing estate being provided at reasonable, competitive rates from natural resources such as anthracite, the mining of which could provide employment for mine workers who are now unemployed or on short time.

An analysis was made at my request of all the factors involved, including the competitiveness of home-produced fuels, on which a decision could be taken on the method of heating most appropriate to the Ballymun housing project.
