Vol. 215 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Industrial Sites.

37.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what is the list of sites for proposed industries which is given by the IDA to prospective industrialists who are anxious to inspect such sites in County Meath.

It is not the practice of the Industrial Development Authority to issue lists of sites available for industry. Industrialists inquiring about sites in a particular area are referred by the Authority to local groups who are known to be interested in attracting industry.

Would the Minister say if the list of the local groups is available to him?

Would he supply me with the list?

Does the Deputy want it now?

I should be glad to hear it.

I shall read it: Trim Chamber of Commerce, Meath County Federation of Muintir na Tíre, Longwood Development Association, Ceannanus Mór Development Association, Navan Chamber of Commerce, Clonmellon Town Development Association, Athboy Development Association, Ashbourne Guild, Muintir na Tíre, and Dunboyne Guild, Muintir na Tíre.

Would the Minister be surprised to hear that recently this complete list was not supplied to a group of prospective industrialists who visited County Meath? The result was that they visited only some of the places on the list.

If the Deputy is making a complaint, I shall investigate it.

I shall give it to the Minister in writing.
