Vol. 215 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Newport (Tipperary) School.

5.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is hoped to have Lackamore school, Newport, County Tipperary completed so that the children can have decent accommodation which is badly needed.

The contractor for the erection of this school has not made the progress which has been expected, due to the continuing difficulties of securing sufficient skilled labour for his heavy commitments. He is being urged to expedite the completion of the work as much as possible but I regret that I cannot promise that the building will be ready for occupation much earlier than the opening of the next school year. in September.
