Vol. 215 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ardfinnan (Tipperary) Marshlands.

8.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the necessity for making provision to have the marshlands at the rear of Ardfinnan creamery included in the arterial drainage scheme of the River Suir, County Tipperary; and if he will take steps to provide that this is done.

This area will be considered for inclusion in the arterial drainage scheme for the Suir catchment.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary tell the House when the work will commence?

Does the Deputy mean the work on the Suir catchment? The engineering work has commenced.

When will the work commence?

The actual work will probably commence about 1970.

Just before the next election.

I hope it will not be another Kathleen Mavourneen.

It is the biggest scheme yet.
