Vol. 215 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Carlow Estate.

47.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire for division the Annesley Estate at Hollymount, Carlow; and if he is aware that part of this Estate has been sold in recent weeks.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of this 470 acre estate; recently they were interested, up to a certain point in terms of purchase price, in 59 acres of the estate offered for sale but they did not succeed in buying. It is understood that, in fact, this portion has been purchased by a local farmer.
