asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in relation to a local authority female officer, holding office prior to the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1948, who subsequently left the service on marriage but was reinstated in her former grade in an established capacity on becoming a widow, if such widow is liable for payment of superannuation contributions as set out in section 23 of the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1956.

In the circumstances stated, the person concerned is liable for payment of superannuation contributions.
