asked the Minister for Agriculture if he can indicate the reason at this season for the reduction in demand for beef in the British market.

Some easing of consumer demand in Britain recently was primarily attributed to the advent of warmer weather. While seasonal and short-term fluctuations in demand and prices are of course inevitable, the beef market in Britain remains basically strong.
