Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the stage of development reached in the installation of modern mail handling equipment in the Central Sorting Office in Sheriff Street, Dublin.

The mechanical mail handling equipment on order for the new Central Sorting Office includes sorting machines and various kinds of conveyors and elevators. Some of this equipment has recently been delivered. Installation work will begin shortly and will proceed according as progress on the building permits.
