Vol. 216 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Register of Electors.

8.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will provide that in the printing of all future registers of electors the year for which the register is valid will be printed on each page of such register.

I am not aware of the advantages which would result from the adoption of this suggestion.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that in one booth in Kinnegad, the presiding officer had the proper register for 1964-65, but a person outside took the front cover off a new register, put it on the face of an old register and succeeded in persuading the presiding officer that his copy was a printer's error? If the suggestion I made had been complied with, that could not have arisen.

I shall mention it to the Minister.

I need hardly say to what Party he belonged.
