Vol. 216 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Swords (Dublin) Housing.

14.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position relating to the need for houses at Swords, County Dublin; and what stage of development has been reached in respect of (a) the advertising of tenders, and (b) the proposed number and position of caravans.

I understand that there are 102 families in the Swords area whose applications for rehousing have been approved or are being investigated by the housing authority. I am informed that tenders for a scheme of 154 houses are likely to be invited within the next six weeks and that a site for ten caravan dwellings is being developed at Seatown, Swords.

Could the Minister give me any information as to where these caravans will be made available, when they will be made available, and how many?

I understand that ten caravan sites are being prepared.

Can he say if in fact they will house ten caravans? There are rumours there will not be ten.

I am not aware of that.
