asked the Minister for Justice the number of gardaí assigned for the period of the Royal Dublin Society Horse Show, Ballsbridge in August 1964, (a) inside the show grounds, and (b) outside the show grounds.

There were four detective gardaí on public duty within the show grounds on each day from 4th to 8th August; in addition, there were six uniformed gardaí on each day from 4th to 7th August and one uniformed sergeant and 12 uniformed gardaí on the final day whose services were paid for by the Royal Dublin Society.

There were two inspectors, six sergeants and 86 gardaí on duty outside the show grounds, mainly in relation to traffic, on each day of the show.
