Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Hospital Pathologist.

1.

asked the Taoiseach the number of applications received for the position of pathologist for the special unit which it is proposed to set up in St. Kevin's Hospital, Dublin, for the detection of cervical cancer; and whether a pathologist has been appointed.

I presume the post to which the Deputy is referring is that of cytologist under the Dublin Health Authority. It would be contrary to practice to indicate the number of candidates for a particular post, particularly before the candidates have been interviewed.

The appointment has not yet been made. It is hoped to have the candidates interviewed shortly.
