Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mineral Exploration in County Wexford.

30.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what mineral exploration has been carried out in County Wexford in the past three years; and what findings have been made as a result of such explorations.

In the past three years prospecting licences have been in operation in respect of ten areas, covering a total of 64 square miles, in different parts of County Wexford. In general the mineral exploration carried out consisted of geological and geochemical surveys followed by geophysical investigation and diamond drilling, if warranted. The findings lodged in my Department are confidential.
