Vol. 216 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Emly (Tipperary) Water Scheme.

25.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Local Government the present position of Emly regional water scheme, County Tipperary.

Contract documents for stage 1 of the Emly regional water supply scheme were approved by my Department on 10th June, 1964. A compulsory purchase order covering the acquisition of lands required for this section of the scheme was submitted to my Department by the county council in December, 1964. Consideration of the order has been deferred until the position in regard to the acquisition by the county council of the State lands owned by the Forestry Division of the Department of Lands, which were included in the order, has been clarified. I understand that at present the county council are negotiating with the Forestry Division regarding the acquisition of these lands.
