asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of people in County Westmeath receiving (a) non-contributory old age pensions, and (b) contributory old age pensions; and the number of non-contributory old age pensions appeals made to his Department for the year ended 31st December, 1964.

The information is (a) 2,381, at 31st March, 1965, and (b) 794, at 31st March, 1965. Statistics in respect of old age non-contributory pension appeals are not kept on a county basis.

The information is (a) 2,122, as at 31st March, 1965, and (b) 295, as at 31st March, 1965. Statistics in respect of old age non-contributory pension appeals are not kept on a county basis.
