Vol. 217 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Nuclear Reactor for Electricity Production.

2.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if his attention has been directed to reports of a proposal to build a giant steel enterprise in a remote part of Ireland, incorporating a nuclear reactor to produce electricity; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

: I have seen some press reports about the alleged proposal. Apart from these reports, I have no information on the subject.

Can the Minister say positively whether this report is true in whole or in part, or is wholly untrue?

There seems to be no knowledge at all of this in official circles.

Has the Minister any unofficial knowledge?

Only what I saw in the paper.
