The total number of persons engaged in hotels in Counties Limerick and Clare, as enumerated at the 1961 census of population, was 112 in County Limerick and 229 in County Clare. The total number of persons engaged in restaurants and cafés was 37 in County Limerick and 205 in County Clare.
