(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Health if he will list the bodies in the State under the aegis of his Department which are entitled to issue grants direct, stating the type of grant in each case.

The Medical Research Council of Ireland is entitled to issue grants in furtherance of research in any or all branches of medicine and in any or all sciences or subjects allied or pertaining to medicine.

No other body under the aegis of my Department is entitled to make grants except on the direction, or with the consent, of the Minister for Health.
