Vol. 217 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Decentralisation of Government Departments.

6.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has any plans for the decentralisation of Government Departments; if so, if he will begin by removing the Department of the Gaeltacht from Dublin and re-establishing it in Galway city.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given by the Minister for Finance to a previous question about decentralisation on 4th November, 1964. The various practical problems involved in the decentralisation of certain Government offices are being considered. I am not yet in a position to say in what order Departments or offices will be transferred from Dublin.
