Vol. 217 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fees and Allowances to Civil Servants.

51.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what officers of his Department are in receipt of special allowances or fees of any kind in respect of their services as company directors or members of public bodies or while acting in any extra-mural capacity; and the annual amount of such allowances and fees in each case.

I assume the question refers to officers who receive allowances for part-time services additional to their Departmental work.

The deputy secretary receives £450 a year as Chairman of Ceimicí Teoranta. An assistant secretary receives £500 a year as a member of the Industrial Development Authority, two other assistant secretaries receive £325 a year each, one as a Director of the Shannon Free Airport Development Company Ltd. and the other as a director of the National Building Agency.
