By reference to the particulars of persons, other than surety, debtor and contempt of court prisoners, committed to prisons under sentence in 1964 the proportion of such persons who had previously served sentences of detention in St. Patrick's Institution was nine per cent approximately.
In the case of offenders committed to detention in St. Patrick's Institution during the same period, the proportion of the inmates who had previously served sentences of detention was 10 per cent approximately.
