Vol. 217 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transport of Offaly Schoolchildren.

72.

asked the Minister for Education if he will provide school transport, as and from next September, for the 45 children who travel from Cappancur and Clonmore districts to the schools in Tullamore, County Offaly; and if he is aware that such school transport services are required to meet the wishes of the parents and children in these areas.

If the pupils concerned are attending national schools, the question of making a grant towards a transport service could arise only if their houses are more than the prescribed distances from the nearest national school.

If they are attending post-primary schools, I would refer the Deputy to my reply of 19th May to a similar question.
