Vol. 218 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting Orders under Labourers Act.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government if any of the provisions of the Land Act, 1965, affect in any way vesting orders made under the Labourers Act; and if so, if he will make an explanatory statement.

The provisions of section 45 of the Land Act, 1965, apply to vesting orders made under the Labourers Act, 1936, in the same way as they apply to every instrument purporting to vest an interest in land to which the section applies. In so far as vesting orders are concerned, the section simply entails, in the normal case, the signing of a certificate on the vesting order by the tenant-purchaser that he is an Irish citizen.
